How to care for sterling silver jewellery
925 sterling silver will oxidise if exposed to salt air, chlorine, sulphur, moisture or sweat. This is a perfectly normal phenomenon.
How to prevent tarnishing:
- Avoid wearing your jewellery while playing sports, taking a shower or washing your hands (keep them away from chemicals, especially chlorine. If they come into contact with chemicals, rinse immediately with water).
- Soap and hand gel residues can make the surface dull.
- Do not wear your jewellery while applying any lotions, perfumes or hair care products.
- It may seem paradoxical, but wearing your silver jewellery regularly slows down the natural oxidation and tarnishing process.
- Avoid wearing your silver jewellery on the beach or in the swimming pool. Salt water and the chemicals in fresh water will react with your jewellery and cause it to lose its shine.
How to store your jewellery to preserve it beautiful for longer:
- Do not wear it during any activity that could scratch, hit or damage it.
- Do not wear them while sleeping to avoid accidental damage.
- Between uses, we recommend storing your jewellery in its original case or another box with a soft case to prevent scratching or tangling.
- Before storing chains and necklaces in their case, make sure they are fastened correctly to prevent them from becoming tangled.
- It is advisable to store your jewellery in a dry place and when not worn to keep it away from sunlight and excessive heat or humidity.

How to properly clean your jewelry
For proper cleaning of silver jewelry it is recommended to use specific cloths that can be purchased in our "Jewelry care" section.
Alternatively, you can use warm water and soap. A soft toothbrush can be used for the most difficult to reach areas. It is important to wiping gently to avoid damaging the jewelry.
Gold-gilded jewelry requires extra care. Leis cannot guarantee that gold gilding will last forever. Sweating, chemicals such as creams, perfumes or soaps can react with the gilding and cause it to lose its color or break. That is why it is very important to take care of gold-gilded jewelry.
